What You Missed (July 2026 Member Meeting)
At this meeting we spoke about a variety of things. Here’s a quick summary in case you missed it:
What happened to our intern?
We talked about Rachel, the young high school graduate, who attended our previous quarterly meeting who we gave the intern opportunity to. She worked our front desk a couple of times. She didn’t work out because the responsibility was too much for her at this time.
Communication
We spoke about the improvements in communication from the members as far as the calendar and being respectful of time. You are doing an awesome job.
Pet fee
Moving forward, there will be a “pet fee“ of $35 for any animal entering the building for a photo shoot. This means you no longer need to call Ke’er for approval when you have a pet involved. There will be a check box on your booking page when you book your studio that indicates a pet will be a part of your photo shoot. Then you can pay the pet fee on that day or pay along with your membership dues. A pet fee can accumulate a late fee if not paid on time. That late fee will be the same as any other late fee at CoLab ($50 for the first late day and $10 each additional day). Otherwise no pets allowed. And we will get a sign to illustrate that.
Should we keep having member meetings?
We discussed if we wanted to continue to have quarterly meetings involving the members. If they are beneficial. The overall opinion from everyone was yes.
Social media
Tiffany updated us with social media news. Everyone who has participated so far in our interview series “between shoots“, you are appreciated. However, member engagement with the page is needed. Repost, share, like, comment, etc. CoLab’s content may not come up on your feed as much. If that’s the case, visit the page a couple times a week to check for and engage with new post. CoLab has 18 members who are photographers and three additional behind the scenes members outside of that. That’s 21 people total. So each post should automatically have 21 likes from CoLab’s 21 members.
Tiffany also discussed creating content for each other. She talked about how she and Jaio booked one of the studio’s for a few hours and helped each other create content whether it’s educational, trendy or just behind the scenes, it’s an excellent idea to team up with other members to help create content.
New studio manager?
Moving forward, Ke’er may become less accessible and generally needs assistance with running the studio as we grow. He has help on the backend through Kendra, Shakira, and LaMichelle. But the front end, the client/member facing part of the business will need that same level of support. With that being said he has enlisted the help of a fellow member to help run the studio. That person is Ernest. He is our new studio Manager. He is here to help with any questions or concerns from members, he can give approval, he can issue penalties/late fees, you can go to him for studio solutions as far as equipment, sets, furniture, help with techniques, ideas for studio improvement, etc. Basically, as of now, Ernest can do the same things as Ke’er with the exception of anything involving payment and he cannot let you into the building remotely if you forget your key card.
Get paid from CoLab
We have a new incentive program.
Refer someone to become a member. If that person is approved for membership and stays at least 90 days, the member who referred that person will receive a free month of membership dues. This means if the person you referred stays a CoLab member for three months, the member who referred that person will get the fourth month free. This is a $500 value. Each additional person you refer who becomes a member and stays for at least 90 days you will receive $100 off of your membership dues per person you refer. You will just need to tell your referral to mention you on the membership application which is on our website.
Share your discount code. Each member will receive a code that will allow non-members who book the studio to receive 10% off of their total booking cost. The member whose code is used the most will get a $100 visa gift card. NOTE: you must have at least 3 bookings that entered your code to be eligible for winning. Your code can be used multiple times by the same person.
These incentives will end September 30 and the winners will be announced October 4, 2026. If you did not receive a code, contact Ke’er to get one.
